A solo artist and performer

I have been quite fortunate to maintain a solo performance career, even while producing and conducting. From classical, to jazz, to gospel, to musical theater, I strive to accurately reflect traditions and styles while imbuing my performances with honesty, emotion, and a connection with the audience. My solo credits include: The Miami Bach Society, the Florida Grand Opera, Connecticut Concert Opera, Summer Wind, CONCORA, VOCE, Café Eiko @Japanalia, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and The New World Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Michael Tilson-Thomas.

I am proud to sing with two local professional choral ensembles:  CONCORA and VOCE
These organizations continue to grow, explore, and present the highest quality choral music in our region. Check them out!

Private Instruction

Picture

I take on very few students,
but when we work - we work!

I bring all of my knowledge and experience gained while singing, performing and conducting to my private vocal and conducting instruction.  Both singers and conductors need to know what is happening in the vocal mechanism to understand how to work with the voice, with the singers, and with the choir.

I help singers prepare for auditions, concerts, and club dates.

I help conductors struggling with gesture, communication, repertoire, intonation and vocal challenges in their choirs.

Voice Lessons/Coaching

Posture, relaxation, breathing, vocal function, tone production, sustained pitch, mezzo de voce -these all happen before AND during a performance.  Discover how to find your voice, learn its challenges, and sing freer than you have before as we explore our way into and through your gift of sound.

Conducting/Rehearsal Techniques

Good posture and good gesture are not enough.  How you stand, speak, hold your arms, hands, and face affect the singers and their sound. Repertoire must be right for your choir. Explore these things as we dig into my bag of tricks (a.k.a. 30 year's experience) and we can address your challenges.

Workshops/Clinics

I enjoy finding opportunities to work with ensembles and/or teachers on a shorter time frame and in a more intimate setting.  From in-service teacher training to an extra set of eyes and ears in a rehearsal, it has been a way to assist, enlighten and inspire musicians "in the trenches" where the real work is being done every day
